2026 Summer College Internship

The Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, located in the Metrotech area of Brooklyn, New York, is accepting applications from college students for our highly competitive summer internship program.

Our hands-on training program includes a full day of orientation and a classroom lecture series.

Summer interns have a unique opportunity to assist in duties that may include: attending trials; assisting in trial preparation; conducting and analyzing legal research; preparing and compiling documents and financial data; listening to and transcribing Rikers calls and wire taps; and supporting and participating in community outreach programs. Interns are assigned to one of the specialized bureaus or to a general trial zone.

2026 Summer High School Internship

The Brooklyn District Attorney’s 2026 Summer High School Internship offers an overview of one of the largest DA’s offices in the country. Selected students will participate in workshops, tours, and presentations regarding law enforcement. Interactive participation will be required.  The program is open to students who live and/or attend school in Brooklyn.  Selected applicants must be able to commit to the entire duration of the internship.  The internship will run from July 6th through July 31st , from 10:00am-3pm. Students will receive a $150 stipend weekly.

2.  Updated resume

3.  A 300 word "Statement of Interest" which must be typed (12 pt. font and double-spaced) and addresses the following: “Why do you want an internship with the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office?  What impact do you think an internship at the District Attorney’s Office will have on your future career goals and aspirations?”

4.  Working papers, if selected
